$65,000 Pledged Toward Creation of Fredericksburg Coworking Space

Fredericksburg’s Economic Development Authority (EDA) pledged $65,000 toward the creation of a coworking office space downtown.
The pledge followed a presentation by Matt Armstrong, president of FredXchange, the nonprofit group that for the last year has spearheaded a initiative to bring a coworking space to the region.

The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority (EDA) has approved $22,000 in grants to support city businesses and events.

$500 Offered for Fredericksburg Photo
The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority (EDA) will pay $500 to the first individual or organization to submit a qualifying photo showing the exterior facade of the building at 1010 Caroline St. before it was renovated in 1955.
Tim and Margaret Park, who have operated Tim’s Mart at that location since 1985, are selling the 26,000-square-foot building.

Freehling Named Assistant Director For Economic Development

Free Lance-Star business reporter Bill Freehling has been hired as Fredericksburg’s new assistant director for economic development.
His duties will include assisting in the development of an economic development strategy, serving as the city staffer to the Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority and leading the city’s business recruitment and expansion programs, according to a press release.
