Free Press Founders Event

You’re invited to a Founders Event on Wednesday, June 7 with the Fredericksburg Nationals at Virginia Credit Union Stadium to learn more about the Fredericksburg Free Press. The Free Press is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan, free digital news service being created by neighbors, businesspeople and community members in the Fredericksburg region. The Free Press is built on the principles that local journalism creates social cohesion, encourages community participation in the political process, improves the efficiency and decision-making of local government, and promotes economic development, the arts, and social welfare in the community it serves.

We hope to launch the news service later in 2023 and need your support!

$1,000 – Founding Members will have the opportunity to throw one of the evening’s first pitches and receive an inaugural Free Press gift.
