Program offers free produce to families with young children

On a mission to help encourage those area families receiving benefits from the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program to establish healthy eating habits, The Doctor Yum Project, Farmers Markets and the Rappahannock Area Health Department are entering their second summer of offering families with young children access to free fresh produce all summer long.

Sylvia P. “Pat” Brinklow,78, of King George formerly of Front Royal passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home.Mrs. Brinklow was a member of Community Baptist Church for 55 years.Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Thomas C. Brinklow; sons David A. Brinklow (Barbara) and Todd C. Brinklow (Bethany) both of King George; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers Raymond Payne, Richard K. Payne and Ronald G. Payne; sister Judith Walton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar W. and Rosa Mae Payne; and brother Roland PayneThe family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 11 in the funeral home chapel.
