Drivers traveling Route 3 in Fredericksburg near Interstate 95 at Exit 130 and the Central Park shopping area should be alert for overnight lane closures this week as construction continues on a safety improvement project.

Traffic will not be permitted to exit Central Park at Carl D. Silver Parkway to Route 3 between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. starting the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 12 through the morning of Friday, Sept. 15.
A detour will be in place for approximately eight weeks, weather permitting, while construction is underway.

Drivers on Courthouse Road will notice a reduced speed limit of 35 mph in the work zone from Ramoth Church Road to Cedar Lane to ensure the safety of working crew members and the traveling public.
Nighttime lane closures, including intermittent full closures, on the Dulles Toll Road and Dulles Airport Access Road at Route 7 will occur from Sunday, Aug. 27 through Monday, Sept. 11 in order to install bridge beams.
Pedestrians crossing Route 17 at Tappahannock can use a new crosswalk and push-button activated flashing warning light system recently installed by the Virginia Department of Transportation
Construction delays for this week
The signal will first be placed in flash mode the morning of Monday, Aug. 21 for 48 hours. The signal will go into full operation at approximately midday on Wednesday, Aug. 23.
