Warner and Kaine call on Congress to take steps to reduce gun violence
VIDEO: Tuesday in DC, Virginia Senators Warner and Kaine responded to the horrific shooting in Virginia Beach, and called on the Republican-led U.S. Senate to take up bipartisan legislation to reduce gun violence. The Senators also applauded Governor Northam’s decision to call a special session to work on gun safety legislation.

Stafford Supervisors close Lake Abel boat ramp and parking area following fatal accident
VIDEO: Stafford Supervisors have closed the Abel Lake boat ramp and the parking at Kellogg Mill Road until grass and trees have been cut and sightlines improved. 17-year old Colonial Forge student Helen Wang died last Thursday. She was turning from the boat ramp onto Kellogg Mill when her car was hit by a truck.

Stafford impacted by tax break for disabled vets
VIDEO: A state law is having a major economic impact on Stafford County. The law exempts some disabled veterans from paying real estate taxes. It passed in 2011 and is costing Stafford about 4 million dollars a year. Stafford’s Commissioner of the Revenue is calling for a state-local partnership.

City Council approves 85 cent tax rate. One more vote needed to make it official
VIDEO: On the first of two votes, Fredericksburg City Council unanimously approved an 85 cent tax rate. That’s a five cent increase over the current rate. One cent goes to storm water improvements. The other four cents to general government and schools.
