Brompton Community School is hosting our fourth annual fundraiser, A Taste of Brompton, on May 3rd, 2025. This event will feature a food and wine tasting, a live and silent auction, music, and student-created art. All funds raised at this highly anticipated event are directly invested into the students and providing financial aid for families. Time and Space Comics is a new comic book shop in Stafford VA, featuring rare and vintage comics and toys. This 80s themed store has all your favorite 80s and 90s toys and collectibles.

Nature Journaling Class
May 3, 2 pm – 4 pm

In this workshop lead by Master Naturalists, learn how to record observations of nature by drawing, writing, and diagraming in a journal. Participants will share a variety of art mediums to try and take their journal home to continue practicing. Class is recommended for ages 8+. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Advance reservations are required.

Join us for the 31st annual Great Train Race

The Great Train Race will return to downtown Fredericksburg, VA on May 4th 2025! This is one of the largest timed kid’s races on the east coast. Young runners get the rare opportunity to compete in a race just for them. This event supports Loisann’s Hope House.

The race starts near the Fredericksburg Train Station and runs through historic downtown. Runners cross the Crown Trophy Finish Line at the City Docks. Runners and families are invited to the Finish Festival located in the commuter lot behind the Train Station for awards, music, vendors, and treats.

The race consists of 3 events for kids under 18:

• The 1-mile Express for ages 6 to 17
• The 1/2-mile George Dashington for ages 10 and under
• The 1/4-mile Caboose Run for ages 5 and under

The Express and George Dashington will be chip timed races. The Caboose Run is a fun run and will not be timed.
