“The Banyan Tree of the Americas: Music Evolution in the African Diaspora Symposium” in Fredericksburg, VA on May 18, 2024.

This is a free Symposium sponsored by Semilla Cultural.  It will include panel discussions, workshops and performances open and free to the community focusing on Afro-Puerto Rican bomba, aligned with African-rooted music and dance genres popular in Virginia such as jazz, salsa, and Afro-Colombian.

All of these events will be open to the community, free of cost and with the keynote and panels livestreamed.
