From the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office:
On November 1 at approximately 9:15pm deputies responded to the area of N. Danford Street in the Fox Point Subdivision for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival and speaking with witnesses, it was determined a 35-year-old female victim had apparently been shot in a vehicle she was a passenger in.
During initial interviews with witnesses, the victim and a male friend were driving to a relative’s home in the Fox Point Subdivision to pick up her infant daughter. At some point during the drive to the relative’s home, there was an argument between the relative and the victim in regards to the male she was with not being welcomed at the home. Moments later, the vehicle the victim was in was shot multiple times as it turned onto N. Danford Street. The male driver, realizing the victim has been struck by gun fire immediately sped off and drove to a local emergency room.
The victim sustained 5 gunshot wounds to the lower body, which appear to all be nonlife-threatening.
Subsequent interviews were conducted by detectives and it was determined Christopher Williams was the suspect.
Williams is the husband of the victim’s relative. Williams fled prior to deputies arriving. Williams is currently wanted for aggravated malicious wounding, attempted aggravated malicious, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, shooting into an occupied vehicle and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The weapon that was used during the incident has not been located. Williams should be considered armed and dangerous.
