The King George Sheriff’s Office says four out-of-state residents were arrested early Tuesday after a deputy saw two vehicles racing at more than 100 mph. Sheriff’s 1st Sgt. Kecia Wharton said Deputy Tully was on duty at 1:18 a.m. when he saw two vehicles heading north at a high rate of speed on Route  301 in King George in the area of Port Conway Road.

Wharton said the speeding vehicles were stopped in the area of Ed’s Drive.  In the vehicles, police found an AR-15 rifle, multiple baggies of a white powder thought  to be illegal drugs, more than 2 pounds of marijuana and more than $12,000 in cash.

All four went to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
