From Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Rotary Club
April Peterson, proprietor of River Rock Outfitter, was presented the 2023 Business Ethics Award at the recent annual installation banquet for the Rappahannock-Fredericksburg Rotary Club.
This award is given annually to a local business person who demonstrates the highest ethical standards in his or her business practices and adheres to the Rotary Four-Way Test of the things we say and do: Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP? Will be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Peterson was recognized for exhibiting strong business ideals and ethics in managing her business and for her leadership in advocating for other downtown merchants through the challenges of the Covid-19 shutdown and economic downturn. She demonstrated her commitment to the betterment of the Fredericksburg community serving as President of the Board of Directors of “Fredericksburg, VA Main Street” from January 2019 to December 2021 and spearheading and guiding the recent “Otterly” Fredericksburg Project at the Riverfront Park.
In addition to receiving the ethics award, Peterson was named a Paul Harris Fellow, which carries a $1000 donation in her name toward the eradication of polio, producing clean water and the promotion of peace worldwide.
