The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office says there was a shooting on Tuesday about 3:30pm in the area of 5700 Knightsbridge Court. Upon deputies’ arrival, they found the 17-year-old victim suffering from a gun shot would to the leg. Major Liz Scott says a 17 year-old suffered a leg injury. Major Scott says the victim was hospitalized.
Upon further investigation and witness accounts, the juvenile victim was shot outside of the apartment building. The witnesses further said two males exited a vehicle and shot the victim. The two male suspects were seen getting back into their vehicle and fleeing the area. The area was canvassed for the suspect vehicle, which was described as a red or maroon Chrysler sedan.
On Wednesday an alert School Resource Officer found an unoccupied Chrysler sedan in the student parking lot of Massaponax High School. Detectives responded to the school, working with school administration to interview the driver of the vehicle. This is an on-going investigation and will continue as many interviews are being conducted.
