From the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office:
On February 17, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m. an officer with the Colonial Beach Police Department (CBPD) was involved in an incident near the intersection of 7th Street and Route 205. While patrolling the area in a marked police vehicle, the officer noticed two suspicious individuals and attempted to make contact with the unknown subjects, then who fled the scene.
Additional CBPD officers arrived to assist the search, at which the time one of the subjects shot at the CBPD officers. The officer was not hit and did not return fire. Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office (WMCO) is the primary investigation agency, with the Colonial Beach Police Department actively assisting with information to further their investigation.
