From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:
Remember that scene from Toy Story where Sid is in Pizza Planet playing the Crane Game and pulls out both Buzz Lightyear and Woody? His quote “All right, double prizes!” fits a warrant service last night in Stafford County.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. deputies responded to a residence in Brookstone subdivision to serve an arrest warrant for William Van Hoy, 28. Van Hoy was wanted in Fredericksburg for a probation violation and in Spotsylvania for a show cause revocation. As deputies made contact at the home, Van Hoy absconded through the back and disappeared into the frigid night in blue jeans and a sweatshirt.
However, deputies did not leave empty handed. Deputy D.A. Earp, Jr. located Michael Louis, 53, and learned he was wanted in Louisa for failure to appear. Louis was arrested and released by the magistrate on a personal recognizance bond.
Deputies continued to search for Van Hoy, but were unsuccessful. That’s when Elsa, from Frozen, provided a little assistance. As the wind howled and the temperature plummeted, Van Hoy decided the cold weather was too much and returned home to surrender. Deputy T.A. Vasquez returned to the home and served the warrants. Van Hoy was recognized on the Spotsylvania charge and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond on the Fredericksburg charge.
