Early morning fire in North Stafford townhouse

From Stafford Fire and Rescue:

 At 5 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5th, Stafford County Fire and Rescue (SCFR) units were dispatched for a reported structure fire in the 300 block of Goose Pond Road in the northern portion of Stafford County. First arriving units marked on scene less than 10 minutes later due to weather conditions and reported fire throughout both levels of a two-story middle of the row townhouse.
Crews made entry into the residence however due to structural collapse conditions they were forced out. Fire tactics were transitioned to a defensive mode, with extinguishment assistance from two aerial trucks. A second alarm was struck at 5:15 a.m. bringing additional resources to the scene for assistance.
The five occupants of the residence were not be present at the time of the fire. They were located safely at another location. There were no reported firefighter or occupant injuries. Two adjacent townhomes sustained minor damage, temporarily displacing additional residents. The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist.
The fire is under investigation by the Stafford County Fire Marshal’s Office. SCFR units were assisted on scene by Quantico Fire and Emergency Services.
