It is impossible for us to find the words to adequately express our HEARTFELT THANKS! This afternoon we received a check that, combined with pledges and donations from more than 350 people, puts us over $750,000! Because of this tremendous community support, Downtown Greens now has the resources to complete Phase 1 (initial acquisition) and to qualify for financing to cover the full purchase price of over $2 million.
This is a time to celebrate as we prepare for the next phases which will involve full debt repayment, putting the land in a conservation easement so that it is preserved for this and future generations and beginning to implement exciting programs — including nature-based education and farmer training — on this precious land.
The purchase of these 56 acres is a direct outcome of the community coming together around this goal. Your continued support and your continued contributions of time and financial resources will enable us to fully realize the exciting vision that we share with so many for this unique green space in our wonderful City. We’re excited to continue the collaboration that made the completion of Phase 1 possible. Together we are making this dream a reality! Our hearts are full of Joy and Gratitude.
