WATCH: Stafford Supervisors delay vote to rename Route 1 after fallen State Trooper

Stafford Supervisors voted Tuesday to delay recommending a new name for Route One. A bill by Stafford Delegate Josh Cole would rename Jefferson Davis Highway Emancipation HIghway. Supervisors have discussed calling it Richmond Highway. Board Chairman Crystal Vanuch supports Jessica Cheney Highway, after a State Trooper killed in 1998 assisting an accident. Some board members complained they were never consulted.
