The suspect in the Tuesday night shooting of a 30 year-old Spotsylvania man has been charged. 27 year old Marshall Albritton of Stafford is charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a violent felon. The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office says Albritton has not been arrested. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting occurred in the 5600 block of Acree Avenue. On September 15th at approximately 10:15 pm, deputies responded to the area of Acree Avenue, Salem Run Apartments for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, several witnesses stated there was an altercation between two men. Captain Liz Scott says Detective J. Basil identified Albritton as a suspect. Deputies were able to locate a shell casing as well as a blood trail, however no victim or suspect. Moments later, a gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital.
The victim had been driven to the hospital by a friend. The victim told authorities he and the suspect got into a verbal altercation outside in the parking lot. The suspect was known to the victim’s associates who were with him.
