The Rappahnnock Area Health District reports 35 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. There have been 29 new positive test results in the last 24 hours for a total of 1,597 confirmed cases:

18 area residents have now died from COVID-19. Eileen Sousa with the Health Department says a Stafford man in his 80’s passed away.
The definition of close contact has changed: prolonged exposure now counts as 15 minutes instead of 10 minutes for individuals exposed in community environments.
