In these challenging times, Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank (FRFB) has doubled the pounds of food distributed in March and April compared to last year. Seven local State Farm agents have banded together to make a monetary donation to help keep the shelves stocked.
Fredericksburg area State Farm agents Bryan Carroll, Cliff Galyen, Anne Reeves, Bryce Reeves, Vicki Thomas, Chris Vomund, and Cliff Ward collectively donated $3,250 to Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank. This is the equivalent of 6,500 meals.
“Being a ‘Good Neighbor’ isn’t just a slogan or a catchphrase, it’s a way of life,” shared Agent Chris Vomund. “The need for support in our community for basic items, like food, is greater than ever. We are pleased to come together to help support our neighbors in need.”
The Food Bank serves the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Caroline, the City of Fredericksburg, and Locust Grove and provides support for 70 local charitable agencies, operating more than 160 programs. “ We are seeing many people use the Food Bank for the first time due to the COVID19 crisis,” shared Grants and Communications Manager Elizabeth Gilkey. “The FRFB is so fortunate to have the support of our community as we work to help our hungry neighbors.”
