I-95 Southbound

 

Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville Road) to Exit 140 (Courthouse Road)

Tuesday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 10 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m. Single lane closure on I-95 southbound near Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville Road) to Exit 140 (Courthouse Road) for work in connection with the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension (Fred Ex) project.

 

Mile Marker 117 to I-95 Southbound Safety Rest Area (Mile Marker 108)

Sunday Thursday, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. Single lane closure on I-95 southbound will begin at 8 p.m. at mile marker 117, which is south of the Spotyslvania County and Caroline County line. Double lane closures will begin at 10 p.m. for milling and paving this section of interstate. Double lane closures will end at 6 a.m. each day. I-95 Northbound

 

Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth)

Wednesday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure on I-95 northbound starting at mile marker 131, which is near the Rappahannock River Bridge, to north of Exit 133 (Route 17/Falmouth) at mile marker 134. This work is in connection with the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension (Fred Ex) project.

 

Exit 140 (Courthouse Road)

Sunday – Tuesday, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. Single lane closure on I-95 northbound near the Exit 140 (Courthouse Road) interchange will start at 8 p.m. followed by double lane closures at 10  p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. This work is in connection with the Exit 140 diverging diamond interchange project.

 

Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville)

Monday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. A mobile operation will close two lanes on I-95 northbound to allow crews to inspect various overhead signs. Crews will begin at the Exit 143 interchange then proceed north to mile marker 145, just before the Stafford County and Prince William County line. Delays are possible.

 

I-95 Northbound and Southbound

 

Exit 140 (Courthouse Road)

Tuesday Thursday, 8 p.m. –10 a.m. Single lane closures and mobile operations on I-95 northbound and southbound at Exit 140 for line-striping. This work is in connection with the Exit 140 diverging diamond interchange project.

 

Stafford County

 

Route 17 Southbound

Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Single lane closure on Route 17 southbound near Sanford Drive to allow crews to work along the shoulder and curb as part of the I-95 Southbound Rappahannock River Crossing project.

 

Route 630 (Courthouse Road) Area

Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Crews are working on final construction activities as part of the Courthouse Road widening project.

 

Expect brief delays and intermittent flagging operations with alternating, one-way traffic at the following locations:

·    Courthouse Road between Cedar Lane to Walpole Street, Austin Ridge Drive to Red Oak Drive

Hospital Center Boulevard

Monday Thursday, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Expect single lane closures on Hospital Center Boulevard between Courthouse Road and Route 1 for road work as part of the Courthouse Road widening project.

 

Old Courthouse Road

Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Expect alternating single lane closures on Old Courthouse Road between Red Oak Drive and Route 1 for sidewalk construction.

 

Stafford County and City of Fredericksburg

 

Route 1 Northbound and Southbound at Falmouth Bridge

Monday – Thursday, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Expect alternating, single lane closures on Route 1 northbound and southbound at the Falmouth Bridge over the Rappahannock River for bridge repairs.

 

City of Fredericksburg

 

William Street Closure and Detour

William Street is closed at Sunken Road to westbound traffic for storm sewer work. Eastbound traffic on William Street will be slightly shifted to get around the work zone. Westbound traffic on William Street will be detoured to Littlepage Street and Hanover Street. Drivers are advised to follow the posted detour signs.

 

Lafayette Boulevard

Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Southbound traffic will be shifted to the center lane with a lane closure on Lafayette Boulevard between Blue & Gray Parkway and St. Paul Street for turn lane construction into the future Telegraph Hill and Fredericksburg Park developments. One travel lane will remain open in each direction.

 

Spotsylvania County

 

Route 3 Westbound near I-95 overpass

Monday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Expect single left lane closure on Route 3 westbound near the I-95 overpass for guardrail repair.

 

Route 17 (Mills Drive) at Route 1

Sunday – Tuesday, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. Expect flagging operations at the Route 17 (Mills Drive) and Route 1 intersection for traffic signal work. A flagging crew will direct drivers through the intersection. Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control.

 

East Robert E. Lee Court

Monday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Drainage pipe replacement. VDOT crews will replace a deteriorated 48-inch corrugated metal pipe with a 60-inch plastic pipe. One-way, alternating traffic through the work zone, which is near the cul-de-sac end of East Robert E. Lee Court. After the pipe installation Monday, a temporary gravel surface will be in place over the new pipe. Crews will return to place fresh asphalt over the disturbed section of road.

 

Bloomsbury Lane

Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Drainage pipe replacement. VDOT crews continue to replace a deteriorated 42-inch corrugated metal pipe with a 60-inch concrete pipe. Single lane closure between Agnes Court and Pamela Lane.

 

Caroline County

 

Route 207 over Mattaponi River

Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Expect alternating single lane closures on Route 207 northbound and southbound at the bridge over the Mattaponi River for a bridge replacement project.

 

Route 207 near Route 722 (Newtown Road)

Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Expect flagging operations on Route 207 near Route 722 (Newtown Road) for guardrail repair. A flagging crew will direct drivers in the work zone.

 

Route 301 Southbound near Route 721 (Sparta Road)

Wednesday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Expect flagging operations on Route 301 southbound near Route 721 (Sparta Road) for guardrail repair. A flagging crew will direct drivers in the work zone.

 

Route 614 (Ware Creek Road) at Ware Creek

Wednesday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Expect flagging operations on Route 614 (Ware Creek Road) just past Ware Creek for guardrail repair. A flagging crew will direct drivers in the work zone.

Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Expect flagging and mobile operations on various routes in Lancaster County to allow crews to prepare the roadways for surface treatement. Drivers may experience brief delays at the following locations:

West Point

 

Surface Treatment

Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Expect flagging and mobile operations on various streets in the town of West Point to prepare the roadways for surface treatement. Drivers may experience brief delays at the following locations:

Essex County

 

Route 620 (Dunbrooke Road)

Route 620 (Dunbrooke Road) is closed over Piscataway Creek for a bridge replacement project. The bridge is located between Route 642 (Purkins Road) and Route 622 (Latanes Mill Road). Detour signs are posted along the recommended nine-mile detour route. The road will remain closed until its anticipated completion date in November 2020.

 

King and Queen County

 

Route 617 (Exol Road)

Route 617 (Exol Road) is closed to traffic at the bridge over Exol Swamp while crews replace the structurally deficient bridge. Detour signs are posted along the 8 mile detour around the closure. The bridge will remain closed until Nov. 2020. Click here for the recommended detour route.

 

Route 619 (Owens Mill Road)

Route 619 (Owens Mill Road) is closed for a bridge replacement project over Rickenaw Creek. Detour signs are posted along the recommended 10-mile detour route. The road will remain closed until its anticipated completion date in May 2020.

 

King William County

 

Route 632 (Mount Olive-Cohoke Road)

A portion of Route 632 (Mount Olive-Cohoke Road) is closed for a bridge replacement project. Detour signs are posted along the recommended six-mile detour route. The road will remain closed until its anticipated completion date in November 2020.

 

Route 662 (Sharon Road)

A portion of Sharon Road is closed for reconstruction following damage from Tropical Storm Michael. A project to reconstruct a slope and replace a culvert will be advertised to potential bidders in summer 2020. The road is anticipated to reopen to traffic by the end of 2020.
