Second pedestrian killed in Spotsylvania in less than a week

From the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office: 

On October 31, 2019 at approximately 10pm, a pedestrian was struck in the area of 5320 Jefferson Davis Hwy.  The victim, a 34-year-old male, later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.  The investigation revealed that the victim crossed into traffic on Jefferson Davis Hwy in front of the driver who was travelling south.  The victim’s identity is being withheld as investigators are still trying to make next of kin notifications.  No charges are being sought on the driver of the vehicle.

This was the second pedestrian death in that area of the county in less than a week.  41-year old Deven Morgan of Fredericksburg died on Sunday after he was hit by an unidentified vehicle as we has attempting to cross in the Four Mile Fork area. The driver has not been identified. Police are working on the case.
