Two arrested after police chase in Stafford

Two people are in jail after they led Stafford County Police on a wild police chase Friday night. Officers responded to a hit-and -run call around 7 p.m. on  Route 1 near Hospital Center Boulevard and discovered an erratic driver that prompted the chase. Police identified the driver as 31-year-old Daryl Hatfield of Spotsylvania and the passenger as 20-year-old Brandi Abbott of Fredricksburg. Hatfield faces multiple charges, including attempted capital murder, eluding, and drug and gun charges. Abbott is also facing drug and gun charges. Both are being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
