Stafford Fire and Rescue says an early morning fire on Friday in the 1200 block of Mountain View Road claimed the life of a 55-year old woman. The fire was first reported at 1:05 am. The fire was brought under control within an hour. The victim was alone in the home and was transported to Mary Washington Hospital, where she later died. The victim’s name has not been released. The home was a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
