Children 10 and under can ride free every day. “VRE has long supported Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day,” said Doug Allen, the railroad’s chief executive officer. “Not only does this event allow parents to show their kids what they do at work but how they get there. We hope VRE riders will bring their children onboard and let them see how convenient and comfortable our commuter rail service is.”
Because safety is VRE’s top priority, the railroad urges parents to talk to their children about how to stay safe on platforms and trains. A passenger safety guide is available online at www.vre.org.
