From Adventure Brewing company
Adventure Brewing Company is hosting our Third Annual Summerfest on July 28th from 12pm-6pm at A. Smith Bowman Distillery. This family-friendly beer festival is a showcase of breweries from all over the Commonwealth of Virginia and our favorite local vendors. In the spirit of summer, we decided to highlight beers with lower ABV’s that are crisp and refreshing. This combined with the area’s best food trucks and a wide variety of vendors has set us up for the perfect day! Plus there will be a cornhole tournament and live music from our great friends at Whiskey Revival! The gates open at 12:00 pm so come early and stay late to enjoy all the day has to offer! Last call is 5:30 PM and taps will close at 6:00 PM.
“This event is a great blend of everything summer! Great beer, fun summer games, live music and local businesses working together,” said Rita Witte, General Manager Adventure Brewing.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Advanced tickets can be purchased at, https://adventuresummerfest.eventbrite.com. Tickets include a festival tasting glass and eight six-ounce tasting tickets. Additional beer tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the event. Non-drinkers and Kids are free.
The event is being hosted at A. Smith Bowman Distillery. A. Smith Bowman’s distilling roots began before Prohibition. The Bowman family had a dairy & granary farm in Fairfax County, Virginia that they called Sunset Hills. Excess grain from the farm was used to start distilling spirits. In 1935, after the Repeal of Prohibition, Abram Smith Bowman built and licensed a slightly more modern distillery. In 1988, the distillery was moved to its current location, nestled in the historic city of Fredericksburg, VA in Spotsylvania County.
Since 2014, Adventure Brewing has been gaining traction in the Fredericksburg area among a growing audience of craft beer lovers for their innovative, full-flavored brews. With two locations (in Stafford and Spotsylvania) that regularly feature live music, game nights, and special events, there’s always something new to experience at Adventure Brewing. Many of Adventure’s beers, including Fred Red Ale, Expedition IPA, Stonewall Stout, and Backpack Wheat, can also be found at bars and restaurants throughout the Fredericksburg region.
