Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg and Stafford Schools are all closed Wednesday because of snow forecast for the area.
Weather reports have varied widely on snow amounts, but the National Weather Service says the Fredericksburg area could get up to seven inches of heavy snow. Some online weather services are saying snow will start Tuesday evening and fall until 10 pm Wednesday.
VDOT is already coordinating with utility crews because heavy, wet snow is expected to bring down some trees and power lines.
The University of Mary Washington is also closed.
