On March 1, author and historian Connie Lapallo will speak about the women and children of Jamestown at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library Theater, 1201 Caroline Street. Lapallo is the author of “The Sun Is But a Morning Star,” “When the Moon Has No More Silver,” and “Dark Enough to See the Stars In a Jamestown Sky.”
Based on her first novel, “Dark Enough to See the Stars in a Jamestown Sky,” Lapallo tells the story of the nearly one hundred women and children who sailed for Jamestown in 1609. Why did so many women and children come? What was life like aboard ship for months at a time? These settlers first encountered a hurricane at sea and then were thrust into Jamestown’s “Starving Time” and siege.
The event is March 1, 2018 at 10 am.
