From VDOT

Drivers in the Courthouse Road area of Stafford County are noticing increased construction activity at the Exit 140 interchange on Interstate 95. Work is on schedule to transform the exit to a diverging diamond interchange with new I-95 overpasses by July 2020.

At the same time, crews continue to widen
Courthouse Road to four lanes west of I-95, as far west as Ramoth Church Road. Initial work is also starting to build new Park & Ride commuter parking east of I-95.

Drivers can expect lanes on I-95 and Courthouse Road to remain open during morning and evening rush hour to minimize delays at peak travel times.

Weather permitting, drivers can expect alternating, one-way traffic on Courthouse Road between Austin Ridge Drive to Wapole Street between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Mondays-Thursdays, and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

VDOT crews are also working on Winding Creek Road near Courthouse Road as part of the widening project.

A Stafford County utility project is also underway to replace the Austin Run gravity sewer with a new sewer line and pumping station. Stafford County crews are working overnight on Mondays through Thursdays.
