Stafford Hospital Foundation Gift Funds Lifesaving App
The Stafford Hospital Foundation and Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation donated $50,000 to Stafford County to enable Stafford County Fire and Rescue to implement use of the PulsePoint app. “The free application is geared toward citizens trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), so they can be notified immediately if someone nearby goes into sudden cardiac arrest,” county officials said. “As well as alerting users to those in cardiac arrest, the app also pinpoints the closest location of public automated external defibrillators.” Learn more in this WUSA 9 report, “Life saving’ app coming to Stafford County.”

Fredericksburg Area Museum Hires Community Outreach Specialist

Fredericksburg Virginia Main Street Receives $15K from the EDA
Fredericksburg Virginia Main Street received $15,000 of its $20,000 grant from the EDA. The EDA voted at its February meeting to award part of the grant, and follow with the remaining $5,000 once Main Street completes the memo of understanding.

Fredericksburg Sister City Association Hosts Mardi Gras Celebration
Fredericksburg Sister City Association (FSCA) will host a Mardi Gras celebration from 6 – 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St. Members of any sister city organization can purchase tickets at the members’ rate of $35. 6th Annual STEM Summit February 25
The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold it’s 6th annual STEM Summit from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Massaponax High School, 8201 Jefferson Davis Hwy.
The summit is designed to bring together students, teachers, public officials, and businesses from the Fredericksburg Region to see STEM in action. The summit is open to the public. Admission is free.
