Central Rappahannock Regional Library and Salem Run Neighborhood Watch are sponsoring a new biannual public forum series called “Community Conversations,” intended to spark dialogue and foster collaboration and partnerships.
“Food and Hunger: A Community Conversation” will be held 7 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at Salem Church Library, 2607 Salem Church Rd.
The public is invited to join area leaders Elizabeth Borst, Healthy Food Incentive Program director; LaToya Brown, Children’s Programs Coordinator with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank; Spotsylvania School Board Member Amanda Blalock, who serves on the Spotsylvania Food Services Task Force, and a representative of the Grow For Your Neighbor initiative.
Speakers and community members will share information about our local food landscape, and discuss food access issues. Speakers will highlight community initiatives and organizations, and challenge the crowd to advocate and get involved with local efforts to improve our region’s ability to meet nutritional needs.
