Cochrane USA, Inc. Moves into Spotsylvania County
Cochrane USA, Inc. purchased the 91,504 square foot industrial property at 3551 Lee Hill Drive in Spotsylvania County as as their new North American plant location. The property is situated on 8.76 acres. It as purchsed for $3.2 million from New Mill Capital. Virgil G. Nelson, CCIM of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, handled the sale negotiations on behalf of the seller, and Thomas Raines, also with Thalhimer, represented the buyer.
W.J. Vakos & Company Breaks Ground on Hanover House
W.J. Vakos & Company, developer of Spotsylvania Courthouse Village, has broken ground on Hanover House, the 85,000-square-foot next phase of the project. Hanover House is planned to feature a mix of first-floor retail and restaurants, and four stories of apartments.
Rappahannock Big Brothers Big Sisters Names 2016-17 Board
Rappahannock Big Brothers Big Sisters announced its 2016-17 board of directors. Gail Fernett of Landmarc Real Estate will serve as president. Other officers include First Vice President Jacqueline Baker of Union Bank & Trust; Second Vice President Alex Belcher of Belcher Real Estate; Treasurer Katrina Bovone of Pathways; Secretary Catherine Corbin Moss of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren; and Catherine Miller Saller, attorney and past president. Also joining the board are Tiffany Clements of Mary Washington Healthcare, and Debra Levy of Key Communications. Other board members include Heather Hagerman, Paul Janney, Stephen Kingsley, Danielle Snead, Ron Utt and Loren Wallace.
Charlie & Grace Market Café Closes
A month after reopening, Charlie & Grace Market Café at 1002 Sophia St. in downtown Fredericksburg closed for good. Business owner Anita Carshult called it a “bittersweet ending.”
