Historic Fredericksburg Foundation Preservation Tour

Downtown Fredericksburg – the meeting location will be given when tour fee is paid.
This new walking tour of about one mile will look at some of the victories of historic preservation. Some building locations include steps.

4th Annual Gordonsville Famous Fried Chicken Festival

Gordonsville is famous for its fried chicken, which was served to passengers of trains stopping in town during the late 19th and early 20th centuries by local women carrying platters of the delicacy on their heads. Nationally-known at that time, Gordonsville’s fried chicken earned the town the nickname of “chicken-leg center of the universe”. Today, the Cooper family holds the secret recipe for Gordonsville’s famous fried chicken.

American Girl Doll Tea Party

Bring your American Girl Doll to this historic property for a tea party. Built by George Washington’s youngest brother Charles in about 1760, the home became a tavern in 1792. It’s now owned by Washington Heritage Museums.
