Earlier this winter, people were hanging plastic bags of items for the homeless on a chain-link fence in downtown Fredericksburg. A discussion ensured on the Fredericksburg Today Facebook page for other ways to be of assistance to the homeless in our area. Meghann Cotter, executive servant-leader of Micah Ecumenical Ministries, will discuss this with us. We’ll also talk about the City of Fredericksburg’s sudden proposal to create a new definition of “social service delivery” within the Unified Development Ordinance, requiring groups providing services to people in need to purchase a special use permit.
