Often I think of something Terrence Simien shared in an interview in 2012.

“Every culture has music. Taj Mahal said, ‘Music is the intergalactic language.’ I think, there would be no wars – just set up a stage and we’ll have it all worked out by the end of the show.”

At the root of the root, at the cellular level of the seed of music, there is love – especially in Simien’s music. Evidence of his positive outlook on life and values resonates through his music, with his albums and his Creole for Kids music education project. It is no wonder after years of touring through 45 countries, Simian has become a living legend, keeping the life and the love in the Zydeco musical tradition. If you missed Fat Tuesday and The Mardi Gras celebrations, catch some of this show. It is a one of a kind, feel good experience!

Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience will perform at The State Theater in Culpeper, 305 S Main St., Culpeper, at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015. Tickets are $20 – $25.
