Some 70 local artists have registered to participate in the third annual Art Attack in downtown Fredericksburg on September 13.

“Art Attack is a grassroots event organized by local artists to encourage the exposure, promotion and celebration of Fredericksburg’s vibrant art community,” said Gabriel Pons, event organizer and co-owner with his wife Scarlett of PONSHOP Studio, Shop, Gallery and Classroom.  Pons is hopeful the registrations will continue and top the record of 90 participants.

Artists will “take Caroline Street” from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., working outdoors along Caroline Street from Amelia Street to Charlotte Street. “There will be a wide breadth of mediums from oil and collage to ceramics, as well as musicians and dancers,” Pons said. The artists will choose locations along Caroline Street, some demonstrating outside the shops and galleries of which they are members.

Participating artists include: Bill Harris, Collette Caprara, Casey Shaw, Ronald Jackson, Tanya Green, Elizabeth Seaver, Joan Limbrick and Bob Worthy. Artists interested in participating should contact [email protected].

PONSHOP is hosting “The Art Attack Show,” a juried exhibit through September 28 featuring artists participating in Art Attack 2014.
