Multiple Food Safety Violations at Jay’s, Cracker Barrel #537, Papa John’s on Rt. 1

Rappahannock Area Health District (RAHD) officials inspect food service establishments ” to protect the health of all food service customers.”  Routine inspections ensure operators are in compliance with food safety standards and practices.

Deficiencies observed during routine inspections are classified as either critical, posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served, or non-critical, representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance.

“Ideally, an operation would have no critical violations, or none which are not corrected immediately and not repeated,” RAHD officials said. “In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations.”

The following restaurant inspections occurred from July 28 to August 12, 2014. Click on the hyperlinks to view inspection details for each establishment.
