Tim and Margaret Park, who have operated Tim’s Mart at that location since 1985, are selling the 26,000-square-foot building.
A photo showing the original facade could help a buyer qualify for historic rehabilitation tax credits to restore the building to its former state, said Karen Hedelt, director of Fredericksburg Economic Development and Tourism. The EDA decided to offer the reward because a photo would increase the marketability of the building, which is located in Fredericksburg’s historic downtown business district.
Phillip Baxter of CBRE | Fredericksburg and Economic Development and Tourism staff have been searching for months for such a photo. “We’ve worked with the Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Central Rappahannock Heritage Center, Central Rappahannock Regional Library’s Virginiana Room, The Free Lance-Star and numerous private collectors, but have not found the photo we need,” Hedelt said.
The building was constructed circa 1920, and the second floor originally included windows.

The first person to submit a qualifying photo will receive the $500 reward. The EDA’s offer expires December 31, 2014.
