The general election is open to all registered voters in the City of Fredericksburg who live in one of the four wards.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. on election day. Fredericksburg election polling places are located at:
Precinct 101 – Hugh Mercer Elementary School, 2100 Cowan Blvd.
Precinct 201 – Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St.
Precinct 301- Walker-Grant Middle School, One Learning Lane
Precinct 401- New City Fellowship Church, 200 Prince Edward St.
Precinct 402 – V.F.W. Post 3103 , 2701 Princess Anne St.
Central Absentee Precinct- Executive Plaza, 601 Caroline St., Suite 500-A

City Council
Council members and the mayor serve four-year, staggered terms, with elections held every two years in May. This year’s candidates are Brad C. Ellis for Ward 1; William C. “Billy” Withers for Ward 2; Tim P. Duffy and Richard K. Friesner for Ward 3; and Charlie L. “Chuck” Frye, Jr. and Beatrice R. “Bea” Paolucci for Ward 4.
