An arrest after threats at Caroline Middle School. The Sheriff’s Office says a student was allegedly overheard making threats of violence to occur at the school after the upcoming spring break. Those comments were relayed to the School Resource Officer.

Following a joint investigation by the School Resource Officer and Caroline County Public Schools staff, Caroline County Juvenile Intake issued charges against the student.

The Sheriff’s Office says investigators conducted a search of the juvenile’s home and, out of an abundance of caution, seized a 12 gauge shotgun believed to belong to a family member.

In a statement, Sheriff Moser said: “I want to express my deepest gratitude to the students who stepped forward with crucial information. Their bravery and swift action embody the spirit of community and responsibility we strive to nurture in Caroline County. Safety within our schools is not negotiable. It’s a commitment that we uphold with the utmost seriousness and the immediate actions taken by Deputy Deitz and CCPS staff exemplify the strength and vigilance of our community.”
