CSX railroad maintenance will require Route 605 (Paige Road) in Caroline County to temporarily close at a rail crossing next week.
Paige Road will be closed to through traffic at the railroad crossing between the Mattaponi River bridge and Roy Brooks Lane, the Virginia Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
The road will close about 7 a.m. Monday and remain shut down until about 5 p.m. March 22.
The work will be done weather permitting, and real-time updates on the road’s status will be available for travelers.
Signs will be posted to guide motorists along the recommended detour:
- Route 1
- Route 639 (Ladysmith Road)
- Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard)
- Route 2 (Fredericksburg Turnpike/Main Street).
