19-year-old facing charges in Caroline related to shooting

The Caroline Sheriff’s Office says on Tuesday deputies responded to an incident involving gunfire on Elm Street, just outside of the Town of Bowling Green.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call at noon on Tuesday of gunshots, screaming, and several people gathered around a vehicle.

Deputies found a car with what appeared to be a gunshot through the windshield. The Sheriff’s Office says a couple in the vehicle were unharmed. They told authorities they were visiting a home on Elm Street and were fired on after an argument.

The Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Ty’Jon Freeman of Bowling Green, was seen leaving the area shortly after the alleged shooting took place.

Ty-Jon Freeman has been charged with attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He is currently being held at the Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond pending further proceedings.
