by | Mar 10, 2025 | Police and Fire, Spotsylvania, Ted Schubel

The Commission on Professional Credentialing has re-awarded Chief Jay Cullinan the professional designation of Chief Fire Officer.  Chief Cullinan received his original designation in 2016.

The chief says following an extensive peer review process, the designation recognizes demonstrated excellence in seven measured components: experience, education, professional development, professional contributions, association membership, community involvement, and technical competence. Chief Cullinan is one of only 2,064 Chief Fire Officers worldwide.
A press release making the announcement says: “Meeting these stringent requirements will allow Chief Cullinan to continue bringing a higher level of professionalism and service to Spotsylvania County.”
