The Virginia Department of Forestry says gusty winds, low humidity and warming temperatures have all created a heightened level of fire danger across the area and state.
The Forestry Department says we should all avoid outdoor burning at this time, as these factors dry things out and have made it easier for fires to escape containment.
These conditions are expected to continue through Wednesday, Avoid outdoor burning until conditions improve. There is rain in the forecast for Friday.
