City Police make third arrest in connection to downtown shooting

A third person has been arrested and charged in relation to the fatal shooting that took place in downtown Fredericksburg in the early-morning hours of Dec. 14.

On Friday, the Fredericksburg Police Department announced that Eric Costley, 22, of Spotsylvania, was arrested and is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. Costley faces charges including second-degree murder, using a firearm in the commission of a felony, and aggravated malicious wounding.

Two other men have been arrested in connection to the shooting, which claimed the life of 23-year-old Tyler Lee Jones around 1 a.m. on Dec. 14.

On Dec. 19, Elijah Musgrove, 22, turned himself into authorities last week in Berkeley, W.V after fleeing the area. Izaiah Jabbar Daniels, 21, of Woodford, was arrested last week following a traffic stop in Orange County. Both men face charges including second-degree murder.
