U.S. Army Garrison Fort Walker in Caroline County will conduct two heavy demolition exercises Monday and Wednesday.
The U.S Army says, “Significantly larger than normal” heavy demolition exercises will take place at Fort Walker on Monday, Dec. 16 and Wednesday, Dec. 18, with two shots to be fired each day.
Those to the north and east of Fort Walker will hear the shots and will feel the resulting vibrations. According to Fort Walker, low cloud cover could amplify both the sound of the blasts and the waves of pressure they create.
On the Fort Walker Facebook page, one person wrote: “Sounds of freedom, bring it on.” Fort Walker responded to the post: “sir, this is going to be some really loud freedom.”
