Visitors to downtown Fredericksburg should be on the lookout for parking restrictions beginning at 2 p.m. and street closures from 3:30 until 9 p.m. for the annual Christmas parade.
There will be no parking along the parade route. Contracted towing companies are authorized to tow vehicles from most private lots. If you are towed the day of the event, please call Fredericksburg Police Headquarters at 540-373-3122 option #2.
A portion or all of the following streets will be closed: Caroline, Princess Anne, William, Amelia, Hanover, Charlotte, George and Wolfe. Many have already claimed their seats, hours ahead of time.
The parade steps off at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Charlotte and Caroline streets. The parade continues down Caroline, turns at Amelia, goes down Princess Anne and ends at the corner of Lafayette Blvd.
Many downtown businesses will reopen post-parade for holiday shoppers.
