REC watching Hurricane Helene—just in case

by | Sep 27, 2024 | Non-Profits, Ted Schubel

Rappahannock Electric Coopertive officials say their warehouse teams are prepared, and line crews stand ready to respond to any storm-related outages as a result of Hurricane Helene.
While the bulk of the storm is projected to miss much of Virginia, officials say *significant impacts are still possible.*
The National Weather Service has issued a number of Flood Warnings given the potential for heavy rain and gusty winds, and Gov. Youngkin has issued a State of Emergency.
REC says always make safety your top priority, and make sure you have an emergency plan in place.
Be sure your outage kit is stocked. See what we recommend. https://www.myrec.coop/stormprep
