Class Length: One day, 6pm – 8pm
Class Description: Throwing of the hump means you are working with a large amount of clay, centering a small amount of that mass of clay at a time and throwing smaller, items in multiples. It can be intimidating to throw off the hump for those who have never tried but is a great solution to working faster and producing more. In this workshop I will break down step-by-step, best processes and procedures for successful throwing off of large humps of clay. The focus will be on making miniature pottery. Students should have their own tools and already have a good working knowledge of throwing clay and be able to center and make regular pots on their own with minimal guidance.
Age Limitations: Ages 16 through adult
Supplies: Students should bring their own tools, hand towel, and apron. Clay will be provided.
