Weekend: Cool start, warm finish, and no rain Heat slowly builds, leading to a hotter and drier week to follow

  • Afternoons in the 80s this weekend
  • Higher humidity returns Sunday
  • Hot with minimal chances for rain next week
  • No rain is coming this weekend to Fredericksburg, and after multiple nights in the 50s, warmer air returns, sending afternoons into the 80s both Saturday and Sunday.

Humidity will begin to creep up on Sunday, signaling the start of a hotter week to follow. Afternoons next week will average in the lower to middle 90s with moderate humidity, and nights will be a couple of degrees below 70.

Aside from a weak system approaching with small showers on Tuesday next week, no substantial rain is expected through the Friday before Labor Day. As a result, dry and brown spots may begin to show up in a few yards and lawns by the end of next week.

A band or two of showers and thunderstorms is likely to cross Fredericksburg during Labor Day weekend — and right now that looks most likely on Saturday — but there is no sign of a large rainstorm bringing multiple hours of rain this coming holiday weekend.

No tropical systems will threaten Fredericksburg or the beaches from the Eastern Shore to Myrtle Beach this Labor Day weekend. Some showers may be around, but beachgoers need not worry about a vacation-canceling storm this Labor Day.
