The Culpeper Police Department says a  Culpeper man was arrested and charged following the Sunday abduction of a woman,  A press release from the Police Department says 34-year old Asael Narvaez of Culpeper has been charged with one count each of felony abduction, misdemeanor domestic assault and battery and misdemeanor assault and battery.

Police say Sunday night at approximately 8:25 p.m., the Culpeper County E-911 Center received a 911 call about an abduction of an adult female from the 500-block of Fourth Street.  The ress release says the caller, a juvenile, reported that their mother had been forcibly removed from her property by her adult male boyfriend.

As the initial investigative unfolded, information indicated that the female was at risk for physical harm.  A “Be On the Look Out” (BOLO) notice was broadcasted to surrounding jurisdictions for the male suspect and the involved vehicle.

The press release says as officers continued the investigation, a third party caller contacted law enforcement and directed search efforts to a hotel in Culpeper County.   Detectives located Roblero Narvaez and Maudeli Ortiz at that hotel. Maudeli Ortiz was uninjured.  Narvaez was taken into custody without further incident.

Roblero Narvaez was held without bond at the Culpeper County jail. Based on the nature of these charges in addition to his two prior documented deportations, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued an immigration detainer for him.

The press release states:  “Our agency will always take the report of a missing person seriously, especially when that person is missing under concerning circumstances,” said Chief Chris Settle. “I want to recognize our officers and detectives for their extensive dedication throughout this investigation and thank our law enforcement partners for their assistance. We will always exhaust all legal efforts to keep our community members safe.”
